New for 2021 is the Bauer Vapor HyperLite Senior Chest & Arm Protector. Bauer wanted to keep the mobility, range of motion and lightweight construction users of the 2X Pro liked while adding more protection to key areas and creating a more beefed-up unit overall.
External Material
The Hyperlite chest uses a mixture of leather and different high grade nylons throughout the unit in order to resist abrasion. The liner of the Hyperlite is made of Bauers super soft, comfortable and breathable ThermoCore and Comfort Mesh all of which are designed to wick moisture keeping the goalie cool throughout the game. A new Rebound Control Foam is found in the sternum which helps to keep rebounds in close to be covered easily.
Internal Foams
A combination of Poron XRD, Shock-Lite, Shock-Lite Pro, Curv and Fused Comp are used throughout different areas within the unit.
Shoulder Caps
The shoulders use a Shock-Lite Pro construction for great impact protection and absorption. The shoulders of the Hyperlite are squared off for good coverage while still being designed with mobility in mind.
Adjustable Arms
The arms on the Hyperlite are adjustable up to 2” with a quick release lace adjustment similar to what was used on the 2X Pro.
Elbow Caps
Bauer uses a molded Fused Composite with CURV reinforcement that wraps around the arm, the elbow floaters use the same Dynamic 3 Flex system that was seen on the 2X Pro with added Curv for increased protection. The molded arms now wrap further around offering better protection for those areas that were previously left exposed.
Back Straps
The Hyperlite chest features a single adjustable strap that goes through the backplate. The shoulders feature velcro height adjustment and the shoulder floaters can be adjusted using velcro as well.
Sizes & Colors
As with all Bauer gear, the Hyperlite chest is fully customizable with an array of colours, specs and size options. Off the shelf, it comes in their Vapor colorway, all Black, Blue, or Red. Sizing is available in Senior only, ranging from Small to Extra-Large.
